Traveling Tip of the Day

I travel relatively frequently, I think, but nothing is more annoying in the process than packing and unpacking. So that's why I created the "Jason's Arsenal of Portable Toiletries" bag. It's amazing. It's a little bag that has trial shampoo, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, mini-deodorant, nail clippers, mouthwash, cologne, hair gel, and q-tips. It may seem simple, but these items NEVER go back into my bathroom. They stay in this case. So the next time I have to pack, I simply put this little bag in my luggage, and I don't have to worry about forgetting any toiletries. And, I'm not fumbling around in the morning trying to dry off my shampoo bottle from the shower. It's ready to go whenever I need to leave. Now, of course, this doesn't prevent you from forgetting underwear, but it's a start. You will, as you can imagine, need to monitor the levels of remaining toiletrisms from time to time.

Good idea! I do something similar, although my arsenal of portable toiletries tends to sneak into my gym bag. Then the resources get depleted faster than I would like, and there I am, drying off my shampoo bottle the morning of a trip. :-) I will have to start a travel-only arsenal. Oh, and a good thing is to have a duplicate of your everyday razor in that arsenal too, along with trial size shower gel. Nothing is worse than having to use scary cheap plastic disposables when you are on your trip. Razorburned legs subjected to the hotel pool? Yech, not a cool situation. My second Mach 3 comes with me.

Great addition, Steph. As a runner, my workout of choice usually places me safely back into my own shower, negating a separate gym collection. And, maybe it's because I haven't gone through puberty yet, but I haven't used a straight razor in nearly four years. And I gotta tell you, it feels wonderful. Obviously, I'm not shaving my legs, however. But, definitely bring your razor of choice, because if you're traveling, it's probably important, and you don't want to show up with scuff marks.

That is the best thing about being a runner, Jay. I was thinking last night just how lucky we are that we can run, and we don't have to go to a gym. We always have the choice, but heck, with the road right outside our own doors...
