Gatorade® Tip of the Day

Contrary to what one might expect, Gatorade has little to no effect when used to water your houseplants. That special blend of Water, Carbohydrates, Sodium, Chloronium, and Potassium doesn't make the leaves greener or the stems stronger. They don't develop extra endurance, their hangovers are not cured, and they are neither rehydrated, replenished, nor even refueled. Disappointing, I know.

However, if you put red gatorade in a vase with a white carnation, it will change the carnation color. This works with purple or blue too.

This is a tip for those who might run where giant swarms of gnats sometimes loiter by the side of the road. This tip stems from a run on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico, but I've encountered swarms of gnats in Virginia and Kentucky as well. After your run, always stop and look in a mirror before going into public. Otherwise, you might actually complete a transaction at the resort store and greet five people before realizing you have up to 15 gnats stuck to your face and neck.
