Krispy Kreme Tip of the Day

On no less than three occasions, when I've gone through the Krispy Kreme drive-thru on Richmond Road in Lexington, KY, and ordered ONE doughnut, they have simply handed me the doughnut at the pay window, and waved off my money. I even had a lady give me free coffee at a completely different Krispy Kreme in Mississippi once. I figure this happens for one of two reasons: I am extremely cute and charming to the extent that people feel an overwhelming desire to give me free stuff, or the Krispy Kreme staff has been trained to be generous. In the event it is due to my charm, it'd be good idea to have a little "just-in-case" cash ready when you try this.

And as for me hitting up the Krispy Kreme drive-thru like some sort of addict, don't you dare judge me.

Actually, when the "hot" light is on out front...they give everyone a free hot donut when they show up. When I go in to buy some for my classes, they always hand me a hot one while I wait even to place my order.
So, make sure to hit up Krispy Kreme when that "hot" light is on...you're sure to get a free one!

One time I was there with a group and we bought like one box of donuts and buy the time we left we had eaten and been given over 12 more.

I have some friends who frequent Krispy Kreme that showed me that "hot" light trick when the new store opened up. They made it seem as though it was common knowledge,...but I guess not. Of course, I didn't know before that. Sorry Jules, if I'd have heard you raving, I'd have told you the trick!
It doesn't take away from your charm! I'm sure that just makes it easier for them to give you a free one.

DUDE...did you know that June 2nd(or 3rd this year) is NATIONAL DONUT DAY! It is usually the first weekend of June...so an enthused coworker told me today as she brought in 2 boxes of yummy Krispy Kremes! ENJOY! maybe they'll give out even more of their yummie donuts :)

good additional tip odessa! and here i brought doughnuts in for my co-workers today and i didn't even know about national doughnut day. i guess it's just intuitive. i'm like the doughnut whisperer. i know them and they know me.

Wow, now here in 2007, they sure don't do that any more. They seam to have completely given up on their free donut ways
