Or, things you should note if you are heinously stupid:

"If you constantly try to remove all of the earwax, it strips the skin of its protective oily barrier. You also may cause damage to the skin by injuring it when you remove earwax with rigid objects such as toothpicks, paper clips, pencils, and pens."

I'd really like to see someone decide that it's a really great idea to remove their wax with a toothpick. Frankly, I'm surprised they're still alive!

And the more I think about it, I can totally picture a Nicholasville man sitting in Sonny's, picking the pork out of his teeth with a toothpork and then being like, "hmm, I haven't checked for wax in a few days" and sticks the toothpick in his ear. In fact, I think I actually DID see that take place one time!
