Computer-on-the-Cheap Tip of the Day

If your budget is too limited for the high-end models, but you still need a computer for a very specific purpose, Popular Science has step-by-step instructions on how to build your own for only $72.

I was gonna save up for a couple months to build my next computer, but now I learn that I'm already there!

While you're at it, you can build your own lightsaber for only $11.20!

And for only $300, you can add Windows Vista!

These links were awesome. I specifically loved the dude diving into the gold--I love that show. And the Jetsons? Sweet mother, that's great.

hi Citizen Grim thanks for your email followup to me. You talked about how you go into dumpsters for spare items, but I dont think I'll go that far.

And when you climb in there, Citizen Grim, you should take care because there are often bacteria and disease in there. I know you want to be on-the-cheap, but I dont think you have to go that far in your personal life. I know you said you're just too lazy to work, but maybe get a part time job and then you wont have to eat discarded food.

I can understand you getting computer parts out of the dumpster, and maybe the watch you said you found, but you probably shouldnt get your shoes out of there due to fungus and other things that the previous wearer might have had.

Ok good luck there citizen grim, thanks for the tip on the computers, though. good luck.

Mike.
