Cooking Tip of the Day

Need a quick meal that tastes great and incorporates only food items you already have? The secret is Italian dressing. I know, some don't like Italian dressing as a salad dressing but it works GREAT as a simple marinade. It's simple. First take one boneless, skinless chicken breast per person and cube it. Then, put it in a nonstick frying pan, and cook with a few tablespoons of Italian dressing until no longer pink. Do the same with some mixed veggies, sautee them in a frypan until tender. Zero prep time for this meal! Add a baked potato or flavored rice for some starch, and a simple salad with--guess what--Italian dressing--to complete the meal. Cheap, easy, simple. That's the way I like my women too. Just kidding! But seriously!

Hmmm! Sounds like a good idea. I will have to try it sometime. I don't like Italian seasoning, but this might be one way I would like it. Especially with the veggies.

For those of you who like spicy goodness, you can marinate whole chicken breasts in oil, apple cider vinegar, parsley flakes, pepper, and (key ingredient) Old Bay seasoning for about 30 min. Don't poke the chicken with a fork--chicken is already very absorbent when it comes to flavor, apparently, and holes would just allow moisture to escape. Throw 'em on the grill and voila, a meal that tastes like it took hours to prepare. Let me know if you want the exact proportions. Oh, geez, ya got me started on cooking tips. I might have to put a few in the queue. ;-)

Yum, Steph! That sounds even better, and even MORE exotic! Tasty! Now, to our readers, if Steph Church says it's good, it is. Take it from me. Once, we ate a spice cake. Doesn't sound like much, but just because Steph TOUCHED the spice cake, it was amazingly good. And, you should try her beef stew. It's like nothing I've ever had! Scrumptious. The biggest cooking compliment I received (and maybe only) was when Steph said my Rasbury Asbury bars were, and I quote, "decadent!"

The same works for teriaki sauce. It is a favorite of mine. I use it all the time - with veggies, chicken, beef, whatever. Interestingly, teriaki and salsa together with chick in surprisingly yummy.
